Started with a U-Haul and a farm in western Massachusetts.

Full Belly Foods was founded in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic exposing deep inequities in food access. What began as Central MA Food Rescue is now a national distribution platform serving affordable housing portfolios across the country.

Our story

Formerly Central MA Food Rescue. Now national.

We started by rescuing and redistributing food across central Massachusetts. Over time it became clear that the hardest part of food insecurity in affordable housing wasn't supply — it was the last mile. Residents who couldn't drive, couldn't carry groceries, or couldn't get to a pantry during open hours were being missed entirely.

So we rebuilt the model around delivery. Today we source at wholesale, ship direct to properties, and let the on-site teams residents already trust hand the food out. That structure is why the program reaches 190+ communities in 21 states and DC.

Emory University (Goizueta BBA, 2020). Previously led a $500M→$700M business at Walmart before committing full-time to Full Belly Foods. His background in large-scale merchandising and logistics drives the operational efficiency behind the program.

Jen Ruvolo

Jen Ruvolo, CPA

Bookkeeper

A CPA with more than fifteen years in accounting, Jen keeps our books accurate and current — vendor bills, reconciliations and monthly close. She is Director of Finance and Administration for a $12M nonprofit and began her career in assurance at PwC, where she led audits of nonprofit organizations. B.S. in Accounting, Providence College.

Operations & Customer Service Coordinator

Natalie handles ordering and customer service for our partner properties. She spent nearly a decade at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and has served on the Massachusetts Developmental Disabilities Council and local environmental nonprofit boards, building partnerships across diverse communities. She believes good service starts with listening and treating everyone with dignity.
